Four ways in

Cute, cursed, lit by lamplight

Pick your demon

Amon, a fire-breathing wolf. Vepar, a crowned sea-siren. Buer, a lion wheel. Pick one to fight beside you, then seal wild spirits into brass with the Ring.

The head of brass

The king builds a head that answers every question, and it is never wrong. "Arise, it shall teach!" (Habakkuk 2:19, KJV)

Pixel art, real light

Sprites shaded by torchlight in a tiny 3D Jerusalem, with tilt-shift depth of field and bloom.

The spirits of the Goetia

The spirits of the Ars Goetia, creepy-cute to terrible. The first few are in the demo; all 72 are planned for the full game.

What you'll find

Three starters

Choose Amon, Vepar or Buer. Each one starts from its entry in the grimoire: Amon "appeareth like a Wolf with a Serpent's tail", and here he is a fire-breathing wolf.

The Goetia, Mathers' translation (1904), spirit 7; quoted from the De Laurence 1916 reprint

Binding with the Ring

No thrown capture item and no odds on screen. Weaken a wild spirit, choose Seal, and the Ring's seal descends, draws the spirit up in light and folds it into a brass vessel.

A lit diorama

Every sprite is procedural pixel art, painted by the game itself and shaded by the torches and sun around it. The palace court and the Kidron Valley sit in a tilt-shift 3D diorama with bloom and a warm grade.

Music made as you play

The soundtrack is synthesized live in a Hijaz-flavoured mode, with no licensed music and no samples.

A cliffhanger

Stay to the end. The angels are as Ezekiel saw them, and you cannot bind them. And something made of brass opens its eyes.

Ezekiel 1:18, KJV: "their rings were full of eyes round about them four."

Questions

Where can I play it?

The demo plays in a desktop or phone browser, and it opens on this site soon. A Windows release on Steam is planned. Steam Deck is a goal, and we'll only say it's supported after testing it on a real Steam Deck.

How much will it cost?

The demo is free. The price of the full game hasn't been set yet. It will be one price with everything in the box: no gacha, no battle pass, no paid currency.

When does it come out?

The full game is aimed at 2027. Follow along below for dates as they firm up.

Is the whole Goetia in it?

All 72 spirits of the Ars Goetia are planned for the full game. The demo has the three starters and the first spirits of the Kidron Valley. The Goetia is a later grimoire attributed to King Solomon, and the game labels its legends as legends.

How does it treat faith?

With care. God is never shown or voiced, and the Name is never written. In the demo, angels appear as light and wings, and you cannot bind them. Scripture is quoted from the King James Bible with chapter and verse.

Was AI used to make it?

Yes. Solomon's Seal is built with the help of AI tools. They helped write the game's code, including the code that paints every sprite and plays every note, and they helped draft the story and dialogue, which the developer directs and edits.

No AI runs while you play, and the trailer and screenshots are captured from the game itself.

Can I play it on my channel?

Yes, and you can monetize those videos. See "For creators" in the press kit.
